Want your guests to enjoy your wedding day in a new and non-traditional way? Invite them to spend the wedding day (or weekend) enjoying the outdoors in a festival type setting. With the latest trends in glamping and outdoor relaxation, it only makes sense that these things would transition into the world of wedding celebrations. To help you visualize what this event style could look like for your celebration, we recently partnered with several local vendors to stage an open house that would walk you through the process from start to finish!

First of all, choose a venue that provides great indoor and outdoor options. We showcased The Heritage in Jonesborough, TN because of their beautiful patio, reception and prep areas, and, of course, their perfect spot for a glamping village! Next up, you’ll need to set up your festival style area. This is an outdoor area where you can set up tents, a fire pit, movie lounge, game area, bar, etc… the possibilities are limitless! Your bridal party can spend the night before the wedding glamping in style and comfort while staying on site at your venue! During the wedding day, guests can use this area to enjoy time with family and friends in a laid back and totally unique setting. You can check out The Sophisticated Nomad‘s awesome tent village below to see how this could look for your event!

Once it’s time for the wedding celebration, you can move into your venue’s prep area to dress for the ceremony. (Pro tip: Having a comfortable prep space is key to an enjoyable wedding day!) After the ceremony, your guests can enjoy a reception styled however you like from the more traditional route that we showcased, to a non traditional style utilizing food trucks, a cook out/picnic, or any other number of options! If you do want to serve a catered meal, we can’t recommend The Catering Company enough! Their team is on point and the food is wonderful! You can also complete your boho, festival look with decor from It’s In The Details. Tara is awesome at bringing together the perfect vibe for your event!

Finally, as the celebration winds down, your guests can move outdoors again to enjoy live music and great bar service, or they can retire to the tent village again for a relaxing hang out spot! No matter what they choose, a wedding like this will be discussed for years to come! Don’t be afraid to incorporate the things you love at your wedding, and if some of those things are music festival and being outdoors, this is definitely the route for you!
