First of all, can I say how much I love getting to grow with my clients as their love story expands? Since we now offer maternity, newborn, and children’s portraiture, I get to see my couples long after their wedding day!

This was exactly the case for Madyson and Daniel. A few years ago, I met them through a wedding planner and photographed their engagement session and wedding in Abingdon, Virginia. Fast forward to 2020 and Madyson messaged me about maternity and newborn photos. I immediately knew we could do a maternity session with no problem, but I was concerned about newborn work since our studio is over an hour from their home! But thankfully, they had no hesitation about coming to Erwin, Tennessee, and that meant the world to me!

As we got closer to the birth of their baby, Madyson was having trouble choosing the style she preferred for the newborn session. She loved both the posed photos of an Heirloom session and the more relaxed images that would come from Lifestyle newborn sessions. However, there was no need to choose between the two styles! We offer an option to add in-studio lifestyle photos to the more formal, posed session! Instead of just having unused down time, we take advantage of the many breaks that take place during your Heirloom session by continuing to photograph your family as they interact with the baby. As a result, we’re able to create a well-rounded gallery of images that truly captures all the details of your newborn and define your relationships and care for one another.

So what is a “Lifestyle” session?

Lifestyle newborn sessions are so relaxed and stress free. (You’re literally going to hang out on a couch while holding your baby!) We can easily accommodate siblings or pets without worrying about everyone “being on their best behavior”. And, most importantly, a lifestyle newborn session creates lasting memories and images of your child being in your arms, where they feel the most comfortable! These moments don’t last long and it makes me so happy to know that we’re able to create such lovely art from the first few weeks of your babies life!
