One local makeup artist that I keep hearing positive reviews about is Hannah George with Aesthetics by Hannah. I’ve had the pleasure of working with Hannah a few times now and she always does great work and makes her brides happy! Because of this, I’m so happy to add her to my recommended vendor list! Get to Know Hannah

Hannah has been working as a makeup artist for seven years now. She got her start in college while majoring in Theatre and working on special effects makeup but quickly learned she had a passion for beauty styling as well. Over the years, she’s learned to love the creative expression that makeup allows and she especially likes creating looks that allow individual beauty to shine through.

“I love that makeup seems to have gravitated towards a ‘less is more’ trend. I love seeing freckles, skin texture, and a more natural brow structure.” -Hannah George

Hannah also enjoys getting to know her clients. Whether this is through interacting with their social media accounts or having conversations during styling, she’s all about cheering on her clients throughout both their wedding day and through life in general!

Preparing for a Wedding Day with Hannah

To prevent breakouts or painful irritations on your wedding day, don’t try any new skincare products for the two weeks leading up to your wedding day. Sometimes these new products don’t work out exactly as planned and can cause more harm than good.” -Hannah George

Advice from the Pro

Wear sunscreen and drink plenty of water in the days leading up to your makeup application.
Be sure to rest the day before the application! (Sometimes that one’s hard!)
Make sure your preparation space has the following things to help the day flow smoothly:
- Large rooms with counters or tables for organizing styling products.
- Bridal rooms with lots natural lighting.
- Plenty of outlets to plug in artificial lighting or hair styling tools.
- Air conditioning!

Finally, because none of us are perfect, Hannah shared this funny memory about one of her first bridal makeup applications:

“I had just finished the makeup and went to dust a little bit of excess powder off the bride’s cheek. Unfortunately, I didn’t realize I had wet mascara on the back of my hand! Needless to say, I streaked mascara all over her finished face, and had to redo it! It was mortifying at the time, but I see the humor in it now. Luckily, she was so patient and kind with me.” -Hannah George

Thankfully, I know Hannah took that learning opportunity and ran with it because every time I’ve worked with her, she’s been punctual, organized, and wonderfully fun to work with! I can’t wait til we can create perfect days together again!
